Asprey is pleased to support Legends of Football, in aid of Nordoff Robbins, creating the winning trophy for the first time. Asprey, renowned for producing some of the world’s most prestigious sporting trophies, was commissioned by Legends of Football to design and create a bespoke trophy celebrating the achievements and careers of some of the greatest footballers and managers in the game.  Legends of Football is a charity event supported by the Premier League, raising vital funds for Nordoff Robbins music therapy. The charity endeavours to transform power to as many people as possible and has raised a staggering £8million since its inception.

The new perpetual trophy, created by Asprey’s master silversmiths in the Bond Street workshops is modelled on a musician’s treble clef note, linking to the founder’s musical and charitable roots, taking 40 craft hours to complete in sterling silver and 14.5” in height.

This year, the exceptional trophy will be presented to former Arsenal manager Arsène Wenger. Sporting legends such as John Charles, Sir Stanley Matthews, Brian Clough, Sir Bobby Robson, Sir Alex Ferguson, Kenny Dalgish, Alan Shearer, Eric Cantona, Pelé and Frank Lampard have received this prestigious award since the inaugural event in 1996.

Geoff Shreeves, Legends of Football Chairman and Sky Sports presenter comments; “We are honoured to be working with such a prestigious brand, Asprey London, to produce the new Legends of Football trophy. Their heritage in sport, producing masterpiece trophies for the Premier League, Premiership Rugby and Soccer Aid plus many more, is unrivalled globally. We are excited to award the trophy to Arsène Wenger, its first recipient, at the Legends of Football event this October.”

A limited-edition range of forty-nine bespoke Lapel Pins, each featuring engraved number detail will also be auctioned on the evening, reflecting Arsenal’s unbeatable streak of forty-nine consecutive topflight league games from 2003-2004 and have also been created by Asprey.
