13 August 2019
Equals, formerly known as FairFX, has been announced as the new headline sponsor of Legends of Football 2019.
Equals is the new solution to money management and over the last twelve years has helped more than a million satisfied customers move and manage their money.
Although a new identity, Equals’ ethos is still built on a customer-first service, driven by ingenuity with the goal of making money management simpler for their customers. Moving beyond their heritage of foreign exchange, Equals is offering complete money management solutions covering travel money to money transfers, and business finance to expenses.
Legends of Football is an annual charity event, supported by the Premier League in aid of music therapy charity, Nordoff Robbins who are dedicated to enriching the lives of people affected by life limiting illness, isolation or disability.
Nordoff Robbins supports thousands of people through its own centres and by working in partnership with organisations including care homes, schools and hospitals. Its expert music therapists can help people with dementia reconnect with family members, children with autism to speak for the first time and give those living with mental health problems moments of genuine calm and peace.
This year, former Arsenal manager Arsène Wenger will receive the 2019 award, following in the footsteps of Sir Alex Ferguson, Pelé and Frank Lampard OBE who received the award last year.
Equals CEO Ian Strafford-Taylor commented: “We’re delighted to be sponsoring this year’s Legends of Football event. Having attended the event last year, everyone at Equals knows how special the evening is and crucial the work is that Nordoff Robbins does. We can’t wait to see Arsène Wenger inducted into the Hall of Fame in October.”
Equals already has strong credentials within sport having provided support to a range of organisations in the industry including Leicester City Football Club, GB Taekwondo and Pata Yamaha WorldSBK Team. The group also sponsors Sky Sports coverage of Formula 1 and are lead sponsor of Airspeeder, an innovative new sport featuring flying cars planned for launch in 2020.
Geoff Shreeves, Sky Sports presenter and Legends of Football chairman commented: “We’re thrilled that Equals have come aboard to help honour Arsène in October. They’re no stranger to the sports industry so we’re delighted to partner with them as headline sponsor of this year’s event.”
Legends of Football, sponsored by Equals, will honour Arsène Wenger at a star-studded event on 7 October at JW Marriott Grosvenor House London, London.
